Success in Making Tomb Raider New...Even To Old Fans Of The Croft Dynasty

Though this review is on Xbox 360 I am rating the PS3 version as well. This game is wonderful from start to finish. The visuals are stunning and very much in the vein of Drake's Uncharted. The music is perfect for the game itself. The story gives you a great before the great Lara Croft, there was just a girl story. I think this game made a "Real" person out of Lara. And that's to be commended. The controls and movement are smooth. Regardless trying to run fast in offline mode you kinda run on all fours like an animal, but you get used to that. Online play in my opinion is a bit lacking. And seems a little hurried and thrown together. But maybe future patches will fix this. I would hope new content and maps for offline mode become available in the future. As to me the story not the multiplayer is what makes the game worth owning.

SPOILER GLITCH/BUG DETAILS :
One major issue has been found during the campaign mode. Not sure how this got past the beta testers but here it is. During the quest to travel to the endurance and find Alex, after obtaining the Rope Ascender when you try to use it on the crane, the crate gets stuck and doesn't break the floor allowing further progress. And with no saves except the auto-save after you get the Rope Ascender restarting doesn't help. So the solution is this : to the right of where the crate would break through the floor, there are some pipes. Simply move Lara off and on the edge by the pipes and where there is a little drop off of where crate burst the floor until she's in the "falling" state and eventually she will phase through the floor. Excellent game worth every bit of 90.00 dollars no complaints.

This is truly a must have for Tomb Raider fans. The game is excellent. Starts off a little slow at first that however does not last. you can upgrade rather evenly. What I mean is that you get tougher as you progress through the game. The figure that came with this is an excellent item to have you will not be disappointed. She looks exactly like the game version. Dirt and all. I as a fan of the series this is epic to say the least. Do not like Square Enix to much. However they did the beloved series great honor. Eidos they know how to treat the fans with simple nods to their other games. Like in the tombs puzzles comeback. The puzzles are not hard just a little annoying at times. Chrystal Dynamics physic engine makes the game look real. Square Enix had great story ideas about the origins and everything works together. The packaging was great you get screen shots of certain locations. It does so without spoiling the game the soundtrack you get is wonderful. If you like iron on stuff than you will like the badges that come with this edition. The art book is nice it to does not spoil things for you which I like. This is one edition that was done right. Seeing Lara Croft as a young tomb raider is not something most people would care for. However it is a wonderful and refreshing notion that will appeal to hardcore gamers and fans alike. My experience with the game is this 10 out of 10 stars. I am playing on hard difficulty and enemies are a little harder to kill. However I am about done with the hard level of difficulty. The game is just wonderfully and gloriously made. The game might take a day or two to get through. However it is agame that does not make you want to throw your controller at the wall. It has a moderate replayability to it. This game could do without multiplayer. However that is my opinion. I am sure it to is a great way to play. This game is like a breath of fresh air. Not like the Call Of Duty franchise. Anybody who is a gamer will love this. Believe me I am loving the world out of this. I am hoping for a new Tomb Raider game to play. I love the simple puzzle solving in this game. I also enjoy complex puzzle solving. It is nice to have simplicity in games from time to time. In closing gameplay 10 out of 10 replayability 8.6 out 10 online multiplayer 8.5 out of 10. At times you will not have anything to do except to explore the island. This is an excellent game. It would help to have a walkthrough. There will be stuff you will miss your first time through. The fast travel helps quit a lot. Like I said earlier it is for fans of the series. It also is great as an introduction to people who have never played a Tomb Raider game before. New and old fans will love this like I do. I hope you will find this helpful. I am not great at this kind of stuff. I will try to do better next time. I am used to leaving feedback for purchases I make on Ebay. This is a great collectors piece if you love collectors edition games. The figure is great. The patches are awesome. And the survival tin makes a great display piece.
