One of the best in the Tony Hawk series

If it seems like my reviews are biased it's probably because most of the games I buy on eBay are my favorites from the past. :-)

Tony Hawk 4 is a great skateboarding game. It's probably the second best in the Hawk series, behind the third game. Some notable additions include the ability to do one-button switches while on a rail or lip, the ability to stop your skateboarder to look around, COMBO goals, and an in-game store to buy new characters, areas, and cheats (tip: buy the slo-mo cheat right away; it will help with the super hard goals).

You can set custom restart points to instantly warp to, which is very useful if you fall off a building that was really hard to get on top of. Restarting goals is also very easy.

Most of the game is identical to other Tony Hawk titles. You take on short missions and try to earn points by chaining various tricks together in long combos. The music, graphics, controls, and gameplay are nearly perfect. You can even create your own skater or skate park. The only real downside is that the game can become brutally difficult in later areas and requires a lot of trial and error. Some of the pro challenges are nearly impossible.

If you are a fan of the Tony Hawk games you should definitely check this one out (for PS2, Xbox, or GameCube). Casual gamers might be turned off by the sometimes unforgiving gameplay.Read full review...

Very fun game!

THPS 4 has it all.

The single player career mode is a blast to play through. The old days of the 2 minute time limits to complete your in game tasks are gone. Now you have unlimited time to complete a much larger number of tasks and goals...and they aren't boring at all. The game not only includes high scores and finding the letters of the word "skate" that were so prominent in past THPS titles, but also incorporates new and creative goals that you might not imagine. The graphics are good, the music is good, and the secret characters are also very interesting...and weird if you ask me.

The two-player games keep the competition rolling with horse and graffiti and some other types of scenarios.

Creating your own skate park is an excellent way to show some creativity, and if you're done playing through the game levels there are plenty of pre-made custom levels cleverly designed by the game designers.

Bust some sweet tricks, maybe bail a few times, but its still a good time with THPS 4.Read full review...

Ton Hawk's Pro Skater 4

We bought this game for our 12 and 9 year old, we did not realize that they would love this game that much. They just keep on playing it on Christmas day, the day that they received it. Plus our 6 year old just loved playing it and joined in, very unexpected. The only thing that I did not like was some of the music chooses on the game, so I have my boys just shut off the volume.
