Not recommended for HP 2740p

This drive works well and and it is a good product but I think it is not a good fit for this computer. It seems to be a little large so it fits very tightly and does not allow for the installation of the black rubber mount I purchased separately. A metal clamp that goes over the plug does not seem to fit eiither. I had to improvise with a piece of foam, normally used under floors, glued to the back cover to hold the drive in place. It also requires the purchase of an adapter for the plug in the computer.Read full review...

It is a good drive for its time and good enough to satisfy me.

This is an iPod drive that for a short time the computer world used. It is small but has a decent spin rate for small computers(laptops at 7200rpm). It was a good order and the drive is faster than its predecessor. It is prone to a small capacity but they all are at 1.8" compared to 2.5" HDD. It runs my i7 perfectly…

Good value product, serves the purpose as a replacement part.

In general, this is a solid buy. These hard drives break easily when the units they're mounted in are subjected to force. In HP EliteBooks, they're mounted without any padding against the external plastic panel, so they don't absorb shock very well. this is a good size hd and quality

this was a big jump in storage from 80gb. the hdd was easy to install. it runs very smooth, an quite. the use of a bigger hdd has made running the pc much better and faster
