All drives within the MKxx65GSXF family are with a Free Fall Sensor technology. This technology uses an embedded motion sensor to detect if the hard disk drive is in free fall. In such cases, the HDD immediately moves the read/write heads away from the spinning platter to prevent them damaging any data upon impact.

An HDD that runs cool and speedy, and into the future. An excellent buy.

This drive is hooked up to a legacy XP machine with 2 GBs of RAM, with the kicker being that its running the beta version of Windows 10. Like all versions of Windows, 10 still requires a third-party application to do the initial partitioning and formatting (I used Aomei Partition Assistant 5.5). Having done that step, the drive was instantly recognized by Windows 10, and it was put into service as the principal backup mechanism for that laptop.Read full review...
