Don Cheadle is Samir Horn, a weapons dealer who’s looking to make a deal with a terrorist group in Yemen when military forces stop the deal and throw all survivors of the bust in jail.(Samir is a former special operations officer.) During his time in jail, Samir befriends Omar (Said Taghmaoui), the right-hand man of Samir’s potential buyer, and Omar soon organizes a jailbreak that springs them along with several of Omar’s men. Samir returns the favor by assisting Omar and his group on a bombing in Paris, but two FBI agents who met Samir in the Yemen jail are hot on his tail to put him away for good. What Omar and the FBI don’t know is that Samir is working undercover – and completely off the books – for a high-ranking US Government official named Carter (Jeff Daniels), and is in fact trying to bring Omar’s group down.The life of a double agent is indeed a fascinating one, and the moral ambiguity that comes with the territory is magnified tenfold when you bring religion into the mix.Samir takes his obligation to God very seriously, which leads to a scene of him very distraught.Clayton will stop at nothing to discover the real truth behind all of this and tracks Samir everywhere he goes to find his anwser.

Plenty of good twists in this movie

Don Cheadle (Ocean's Thirteen, Reign Over Me and more) stars as Samir Horn an Sudanese/American who is working for terrorists.

The movie is full of twists and turns that at times have you guessing, however most of the movie is pretty predictable.

Cheadle gives a great performance in this movie and shows that he is an actor that should be considered for some awards and should be taken seriously.

Traitor is a good movie, with plenty of action and the final twist at the end is well worth the price of the DVD.

Rated 4 of 5 for a good story line and good acting.

Cheadles Film Talks. Memories You Can Never Forget!

From the likes of everything known, Don Cheadle has reinvented himself as he helped produce and star in the most provocative counter-espionage film of the 21st century. This film make James Bond look like "Barney" the dinosaur.

Cheadle plays a double underground spy who the U.S. actively is tracking because of many terrorism plots he deploys on behalf of his Muslim beliefs. Counter-terrorism becomes a very messy business as we follow Cheadle's character from start point one until the end.

If you are against religious zealots, perhaps you don't need to watch this film. The story has a strong international message to all that follow politics. However, the message could not be any more powerful than the story itself. The entire gist of this film stems around a belief that the Islamic religion must strive to engrave itself within the power of truth in fundamentalism (without terrorism), which becomes totally overemphasized within the beliefs (Don Cheadle) creates within the framework of his own character understudy.

The soul belief that fighting terrorism with terrorism seems to continually backfire on Cheadle as he strives to please his own desires within the backdrop and corruption of his own consciousness while conducting his duties as a U.S. undercover agent. Jeff Daniels plays his US boss and secretive contact as he continually jumps from one situation to the next. Cheadle's motives in this film are clear. He is showing the world what "Holy Jihad" really means, un-announced to the the high thinkers of the world and funded by the most powerful people in the world. Guy Pearce has a very powerful role in this film as well as many others you might be familiar with.

Most people in the world can't even imagine the level the Muslim terrorists will stoop to cause world-wide calamity on behalf of their beliefs. The terror plot to hit 50 targets at the same time on the transportation industry within the U.S. is a very disturbing story-line for this film. We have to believe that Don Cheadle has more than courage to present this world view in film.

Don, I'm quite pleasantly surprised that you have the courage to stand for things that are not pleasant. You have the courage to stand and deliver controversial films for what is right, regardless of how you might present it in your own right. Thanks for delivering this powerful message because this is not just a film to go home and say, "Boy, I just saw a dossie." You go home and say, "Boy I just saw something that I have to take to heart and believe that the message it delivers is 10 times more powerful than setting at home and watching the Nightly News. Thanks, Don! Perhaps your other films such as "Hotel Rwanda" & "Mission to Mars" helped you in making this film. If anyone had the nerve to say so, you solely accomplished more in this film than most people such as the political elite have done in their entire life. I commend you on your accomplishment and am glad that the people that made this film are and were involved. In order to understand the power of this film, you have to actually watch the film. You can never judge the message unless you understand the motivation behind the film. I'm never judging anyone when I say that everyone needs to try and view this film at least once. You can not walk away from this film as an adult without having some sort of understanding about the underpinnings of government mixed with belief. Thought provoking thriller thanks to Cheadle

When I first saw the previews, I was expecting a Bourne Supremacy/Bond film with whoooohoooooo action that makes you say "kill, kill, kill" and gets you all worked up, but this film is more drama/realistic and made me actually think about life instead of tuning it out. The action parts are very satisfying. Don Cheadle was great. If you are expecting something along the lines of The Marine, you will probably be disappointed. It is a little more mature than that. The movie surprised me in its creativity/originality with certain scenes. Overall, it is a drama/thriller/action/spy that I found very satisfying.Read full review...

Okay Movie

Somebody in an audio video forum recommended it for supposedly great low frequency effects for your subwoofer. Too bad it didn't deliver as much as I expected in that category. Other than that, a decent movie with good acting from mr.cheadle.Read full review...

Takes you for a twist!
