Great 2 player experience

This game is good for 2 players.

If you don't know what trauma center is, you basically perform operations which are mainly fictitious but they do make you feel like a real surgeon. The game is appropriate for children, because although there is blood and guts, it is all very cartoony and not gross to look at.

The game itself is pretty long, with something like 40 operations with 3 difficulty levels, and a few challenges also. The single player is very difficult and will be hard for some even on easy. The co-op is great, its completely incorporated into the main game, so two players can perform any operation. The tasks become a lot easier and its much more fun being able to work together to cure people.

The storyline is interesting at points, but can drag on. However there is pretty good presentation, as the story has voice actors convincingly doing dialogue, it reminds me of medical dramas.

Overall I gave this a 4/5 rating, because its enjoyable and gives you a good challenge. However its lacking because there are little improvements made over the Nintendo DS version (this is the 3rd game in the series). The 2 player mode definitely makes the game good though.

Wii TRAUMA First Blood

I purchased this Wii game as my daughter requested it for a Christmas gift. It is a very fun family game. It is NOT gory or bloody as I thought it might be. The story lines are interesting.

It almost appears out of date, but they are in a hospital in Alaska, kind of a remote location. That is what makes the emergencies REALLY emergencies. This adds to the excitement of the game.

It is a bit difficult to always know what to do, or what tools to use. However, the game does highlight and talk you through the procedure. You will need a steady hand to stitch the patient up at the end of the operation.

All, in all, a fun and engrossing game. Would definitely recommend.

Good but not great. Has great potential.

I thought this would be a fun game from all the reviews I read. Turns out it is just okay. I would like a lot more out of it, especially by allowing laproscopic procedures. The game is set in the future and so far I have not even seen technology like scopes and robotics being used to perform surgeries in the game (things that are becoming standard in surgeries even today). I will say that it is a fairly entertaining and at times difficult game, but it gets a little monotonous. I am a medical student and would love more realism, but I am still happy with the purchase and my wife likes to play with me. I would not have been happy if I had paid full price for the new game ($52). Get it used or buy it new for cheap. You'll enjoy it more. Overall, the game has great potential. I'm sure it will get better and better with each new edition. But seriously, they need to get cracking on at least the scope procedures.Read full review...

Incredible game with some minor control issues

I bought Trauma Center: New Blood not too long ago and I have been impressed on how much fun a video game dealing with surgery can be! It supports two players (via wiimotes) and the nunchuck allows you to select what tool you want to use instead of relying on the wiimote to select the tools (which takes a second or two to do but makes all the difference when a patient is dying on you!). The only downside to this excellent games is that, at times, the wiimote doesn't seem to be as accurate as it should be in this game and I had some trouble at times selecting the right tool because the joystick on the nunchuck would overshoot the intended tool. Otherwise this game is a great addition to the Trauma Center series and is a definite buy!Read full review...

Fun for you and a friend!

Trauma Center: New Blood for the Wii is perhaps one of the best games that has been released for the system. You play as one of two doctors (Markus or Valerie) performing (strange) surgical operations in an Alaskan hospital. I have not completed the game yet, but so far it is great fun. Sometimes it is vague with the instructions, but luckily the operations can be performed multiple times until you are successful. The greatest part of the game is playing with a friend. By using teamwork (or just one person yelling at the other) operations can be performed very quickly. You may upload your high scores to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to see how good (or bad) of a doctor you really are. With 3 difficulties to master and many missions, this game is sure to please for a very long time.Read full review...

Amazing fun as long as your up to the challenge.

This game is amazing. I played the first version (Trauma Center: Second Opinion) at my friend's house and fell in love with the series. While I was waiting for Second Opinion to lower it's price, the series released another title (which would be this game, Trauma Center: New Blood).

Playing alone is a challenge, but luckily they added a Co-Op option so you can have a friend join you and help you operate on the patients with you which helps ease the load and pressure of the operations. The game is challenging, but I would definitely recommend it for someone who is up to a challenge, or is interested in the medical field.

You need to have good steadiness in your hands to be able to complete the operations and be quick on your feet. If you're not, this game sure teaches you how to, especially when the only way you can move on is if you train yourself to be more steady in order to complete an operation.

The game's got great replay value especially because you can keep retrying the same operations and raise your high score. There's even an option to connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Network so that you can load your scores for each operation to their servers and compare yourself to other Trauma Center: New Blood players around the US.

Remember: this game is tough, and you may feel defeated at times, but don't give up! Keep playing and you'll get the hang of it eventually. Each new operation is a new adventure! The soundtrack is exceptional and the story line is captivating. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone that owns a Wii. It's a great game to add to your collection.

Not a bad game!

This is a great game for the medicine lover. They could have done better on graphics and role play, but for the most part it is pretty acurate. Some of the scenarios are complicated and can be frustrating to complete. Even if you do everything correct it will still tell you that you failed the operation. Overall it is a good game but definetly not worth what you would pay at the store.Read full review...

Wife Loves this "game"!

My wife loves this game. She really enjoys all of the "cut-em-up" tv shows like ER, Grey's Anatomy, Chicago Hope and all those reality ones that show the blood-n-guts. It is a challenge for her and keeps her interested. Sometimes she is cussing at it because a new challenge comes along that is too hard for her and then in another hour or so she is beaming because she figured it out and has "beaten" the level. Keep in mind this game is cartoony but still shows blood, guts, open heart (and other organs). I can't sit in the same room and watch her but I admit I am a fainter when it comes to blood.Read full review...

Great Game!

Bought it for my daughter who is talking about being interested in medical school. The game is quite amazing. She was a little disappointed that you don't actually do the surgery on a "real body" but other than that it has become a favorite.Read full review...
