A 4x4 F150 is too tall to get into the back easily; this Amp bumper step solves the problem very nicely.
Very sturdy design and not difficult to install. One ought to have a 21mm deep well socket, a breaker bar and a torque wrench (among other tools) on hand for the installation but only three bolts underneath the truck will need to be removed (and reinstalled) to attach the bumper step. I was a bit curious how the action was attained for the step to flip back up into its parked position; I was a little worried that part of the step arm was made of rubber but I see now that it has a spring built in so that should retain its ability to provide the flip-closed tension. The instructions are not the absolute greatest and when I had installed the step it seemed to me that the rubber foot-step stuck out farther from the side of the truck than I liked, but I watched one of the many installation videos available on YouTube for this item and saw that I had just mounted the foot-step using the wrong holes; I removed it and installed it correctly and now the step 'parks' under the truck almost fully as it should. This is not a cheap item, it seems built to last the life of the truck on which it installed, and then some. The only problem is that the mfr does a good job of controlling the price and it is very difficult to find one for less than the full $240 price. Works but pricy.
The step was for my 2021 F150 but none were available so I ordered one for a 2020 F150. Based on prior experience I knew that I could make it work by drilling out and enlarging the two bumper bolt access holes to enable the socket to fit through to tighten the bumper bolt nuts which are larger than on the 2020. Great value and quality, works great, love it.
Makes it easy to get stuff out of the bed when you can't simply reach over the side. It easily hinges down in place to use, and then just push it and it springs back up out of the way. Lower than the rear bumper, so you can actually get your foot up high enough to use without hurting yourself. I weigh 275 lbs, and it works flawlessly. Installed in about 30 minutes. Useful addition
I had one of these years ago on my first F150 (2009) when a OEM tailgate step wasn't available. Fast forward to my 2020 F150 which does have a tailgate step. The OEM step is very good but when I'm backed into my garage there isn't enough room for the step to deploy which is where the AMP bed step comesmin handy as it mounts on the driver side rear corner of the bed and easily deploys down slightly toward the side allowing me to use the step to access my trucks bed. Pretty easy to install but make sure you have a 21 mm DEEP socket, not so much to remove the bumper nuts but to put the nuts back on when you're securing the bed step mounting bracket. This step was everything I hoped it would be, well-built, easy to use and affordable. You can push it down with your foot when you need it and kick it up when your done. That easy! I traded off my F150 that had a tailgate step for a new truck that didn't have it. This definitely makes up for it. Also very easy to install, instructions included and uses original holes. Great help when getting in your truck bed
This step is a great help in getting in and out of the bed of my 2015 ford f-150. I like the way it is easily pulled down for usage and stows back under the bumper easily and out of the way. When installing the step the instructions stated not to torque down the bolts between the step and mounting hardware until mounted under the truck. I found it almost impossible to torque the bolts between the bracket and step when under the vehicle. I would recommend to make sure all bolts under the vehicle line up first pull down the entire assembly and torque the bolts to specification. Then you can place under the bumper and torque the main mounting bolts.Read full review...

These are second step I've bought. I recently traded trucks and this was the first mod on the new truck. It makes getting in the bed so much easier lowering the height for the first step getting into the truck bed. Easy to install and a tremendous help getting into the bed
I actually installed this with my 6 year-old son "helping". I let him hold tools and eventually because of his impatience, let him put some if the bolts in. I tightened them of course.
The assembly did not take long at all and he LOVES it because he can climb into the bed to "help" unload. I find it very useful climbing in as well, not having to get my pants dirty each time.
