One of the United States most beautiful, eye appealing coin.

As a collector, I purchased this first year of issue 1986 S Walking Lady Liberty 1 oz Fine Silver dollar for two reasons. The first is that without a doubt, it is one of the most beautifully made coins by the U.S. mint. It came in a sealed coin case to protect it from outside elements and protects it from actually being touched. Oil on the skin transfers to it and then, in my opinion, ruins/devalues the coin overall. This coin was a "proof" strike, not a 'MS' (mint strike) Proofs are produced for collectors and have extremely fine detail/resolution and are not meant for general circulation. The coin in proof state has a mirror like surface with the obverse side and reverse side bringing out a highly detailed picture almost like a cameo. Secondarily, I purchased this 1 oz silver coin as an investment... With gold and silver on the rise, long term, any silver is a secure investment. Major influence in this purchase was it's absolutely beautiful.Read full review...

1986 Silver eagle roll

I was well pleased with the condition of this roll of UNC Silver Eagles. It came properly protected in a mint issued tube with adequate packaging material to protect the coins. The quality of these coins are clearly up to the standards one would expect of UNC coins and worthy of adding to an uncirculated coin collection.Read full review...

A below average bullion coin

The US silver dollar is a mass produced bullion coin. There's nothing at all special about the quality or the creativeness of this standard design, nor anything special about the purity of the silver. It is produced in such enormous quantities (tens of millions minted) that there can't be any real premium asked for when selling this very common coin. I much prefer lower mintage coins which are much higher in quality of design; I recommend the Perth Mint's silver Lunar Series as just one of several varieties of coins that far surpass the Eagle in quality.Read full review...

first one

It is easier for me get coins one at a time and also less expensive to do this. So now I have gotten started. thank you, Ricky Dobbins.

Awesome coin! Always in demand and always available!

Collectors have complained about how common this coin is, but the reality is that the American Silver Eagle is an investment coin. It's currency. It's a coin you won't feel bad about selling later on, because they are common and affordable and you can always get more!
There are special proof and high grade editions of these coins for those who seek higher collector value, but otherwise, to me these are just very pretty 1-ounce chunks of silver.
