Great sound takes time and patience to setup

Great sounding system!

Setup and connectivity could be better. It took a few tries to get the internet connection and it occasionally will not connect to the source you are using, especially if you switch sources (sometimes I have to power off the TV and the sound bar for them to reconnect, sometimes there is a long delay. The remote really needs a backlight so you can see what input is selected. Once you get it set up and working it sounds great. The Dolby Atmos helps draw you in to movies with overhead action. DTS X is not supported but DTS virtual is. I haven't had a chance to compare the Atmos and virtual experiences but fwiw, Atmos seems to be the more prevelant surround sound option on UHD disks and Netflix.

The bar and subwoofer are large but the bar shouldn't be so tall it blocks your TV view. And the subwoofer cranks out some big bass. So big you might need to turn it down a notch.

You'll definitely want to download the Vizio app to have complete control of the system's settings. I'd recommend at the very least you turn up the hight speakers cuz who doesn't like the sound of helicopters overhead or rain falling mainly in the plains 😉.

This system will need some experimenting and patience on your part but you won't find a better sounding system for less than $1000 (on sale for $800).

If DTS X is big on your list the Vizio elevate does support it but it's a little more expensive and harder to find deals on.Read full review...

Under-rated sound bar, this thing rocks!

First off, it's a sound bar...not a multi-channel, high-end, floor speaker powered home theater system. If that's what you compare this sound bar to, no wonder the reviews are less than great. I just happen to have one of those fancy home theater systems...in my home theater. I bought this sound bar for the living room TV and all I can say is, "Wow, just wow!". Out of the box, with no calibration, it doesn't sound too bad. Then I downloaded the app to my phone and linked up to the sound bar system, made a few tweaks and adjustments and am seriously impressed with the sound from this system. Let's face it, flat panel TV's have lousy speakers...how can they not. This sound bar sits under my TV and does its job very well. It was fun to get it dialed in and even my wife commented on how much better it sounds than the sound bar we replaced it with. My only complaint is that I waited so long to buy it that mine is actually a factory refurbished unit. Came with a 2-year warranty so I'm happy there. It you take the time to get it dialed in, it sounds great! It isn't a JBL, Polk Audio or Klipsch sound bar...but it doesn't have their price point either. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Works Great, But Has It's Quirks

Initial setup is quite easy to do. The part that takes time is getting it tweaked out to perfection. You have to set it up for the room you are using it in to get the most out of it.

Works very well, but has a few quirks in it. For starters, the remote doesn't have any backlighting, and they used LCD's instead of LED's. This makes it hard to use in low light situations.

The smartcast remote app has trouble connecting via the bluetooth. You have use BT Pair on the soundbar to get it working.

Sometimes it also has trouble getting powered up via the ARC function. For that you have to power it down and back up via the Vizio remote.Read full review...

Great soundbar
