Swift decisive action no turning back.
Cormac McCarthy shows us the worst of what could go wrong now.
A compelling read, even if you’ve seen the movie.
Too bad he’s left the planet. He could take on the worst fears of living a runaway government.
His style: the vernacular; no quotation marks (you’ll follow along ok)
His words move along rapidly, as swift as his characters. Read full review...

Lots of bang for the buck
Dark, dark, dark. The good guys don't always win. Written in the style of Elmor Lenard, CJ Box and James Lee Burke. Great characters and crisp writing. I'm a fan.

Title fits the story.
Great book, as usual it is better than the movie. As with the movie, the book is not for the 'faint of heart:.

Should be mandatory for High School graduation
I've forgotten his name, but a descendant of Ernest Hemingway said that reading great literature is what intelligent people do instead of drugs. I could not agree more, and No Country is one of those great books. Anyone who gives this book one or two stars is either an idiot or is so out of touch with what literature is they should stick with reading Dr. Seuss for the rest of their lives.
No Country, for those of us who understand great literature, is a shocking, disturbing novel that fits today's world in every sense. if you liked the movie, the book will move you even more.Read full review...

No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy (2007)
No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy is one of the best books written in our lifetimes. The book is about a man who finds a satchel full of money, an insane murderer who is seeking the man with the money, and an old cop who is tailing the murderer who feels almost unfit for the job anymore. The book was made into a movie in 2007 and won many oscars including best supporting actor and best picture. The book is as close to the movie as possible. It is a good read.Read full review...
Good and quick read
The story was a quick read because of the way it was formatted. It was unusual from any other book I read, because McCarthy doesn't use parenthesis when he writes out the dialog between characters. It was alike, and different from the movie in several aspects. Overall, I actually liked the movie more than the book. But the book gave me some insights that the movie didn't reveal.Read full review...

heard it was a good book. Was also a great movie and they made the movie following the book's story just about exactly.
