I did some research before deciding to buy the T.V., I compared features, resolution, input/output capability, and other things before coming to the conclusion that for the money that I am willing to spend, it's the best value.
I am not disappointed that I bought it, I am very happy with the picture quality, features, and so on.., however,it's lacking one simple thing that is standard on all the TVs that I own, a "CLOCK", I could not believe that with all the features it have, it did not have a simple clock! oh well...., Other than that, it's great and will recommend to all.Read full review...

Good little HDTV.

I have two of these now, and they're well made and American made. They are well-suited for a bedroom, and I bought an optional wall mount bracket from ebay and mounted it on the wall to the side of the bed. Without a digital box, we get a good selection of channels and I carefully stapled the cables to the door trim nearby so the installation looks clean. The TV and remote are fine but there's an annoying difference in sound levels from regular channels to digital (HD) ones on the set. Haven't been able to get around that, but I got a good price on one refurb and a great price on a second one months later. The other one is in my porch room and is a bit small for a big room. don't buy from pictures

doesn't swivel or tilt, so don't have much choice on where to place, chrome strip around edge not apparent from frontal pics, side inputs also limit where you can place it, brand name "VIZIO" constantly lit - don't need their advertising in my home, came with stuck pixel, which Vizio says is perfectly acceptable, heavier than I would have expected, "piano" black finish looks wavy like plastic; thought I was getting a bigger screen than my current 17" 4.3 one, but turns out the widescreen 19" = 17" standard. Like my 15" COBY much better. Also, don't really save anything buying refurbished - if you pay for seller's warranty. Won't buy anything but SAMSUNG in future without seeing actual product (Samsung pedestal looks similar, but tilts and swivels, plus Samsung has 3-year warranty). However, the unit seems to function OK - I just use it as security monitor because of the placement problems limiting its use as a TV for me. Seller's can't describe every detail, so I made certain basic assumptions, but next time I'll see it in person before buying, even though I might end up getting it online, or at least do more research.Read full review...

Great TV for the price!

This TV is so easy to set up; plan on about ten minutes from start to finish... the easy instructions show color picture diagrams! The TV picture is sharp; there are advance settings for flesh color, warmth of tone etc. you name it, there's a setting. It's got a classy look and feel that you'll love. Don't pay any more for another hi-priced machine in this size range (19 1/2")... remember, this is an HD TV! It's got everything you'll ever need except a swivel base and built-in DVD player.

I've read complaints about the fact that the TV base is stationary and doesn't flex back and forth for hi-lo viewing. I suspect that having a base that does swivel would add greatly to the price. I, for one, will find the right sized table, at the correct viewing angle. you can't beat the quality for the price. Check around EBAY and look for free shipping. You can find this TV between $142 - $155. Again, you will pay more for this TV. By the way, I bought it refurbished with a two-year square-trade warranty and the TV is indistinguishable from new. What more do you need?

Other than a bigger screen of course.

At 19" I wouldn't recommend this tv for your living room, but it complements my office set up quite nicely. My primary use is as an external monitor for HD video editing. The 1080i looks crisp and clear and amazing, compare that with lots of similar priced lcd models that have blur or grain in the picture.

The speakers work great too, I haven't tried turning it up past half, which is plenty of loud.

I would recommend this brand over many others, as I have also used a sylvania and an emerson hdtv and neither have as high quality of picture.Read full review...

Excellent, extremely versatile, monitor

This TV serves several purposes: computer monitor (VGA), AV monitor (NTSC signals), and TV with tuner. I like its versatility, very clear, crisp picture, ease of setup, and tuner sensitivity. It was bought for its small size because of where it has to fit. I am very pleased at the picture quality, and appreciate the ease of adjustment using the remote.Read full review...

Great little Flat Screen TV

Of course Vizio is rated very good amonst the low price sets but this little TV will surprise you with an excellent picture even on 720. I installed this TV in my boat with an in-motion antenna and it works super. I bid on 2 of them thinking I might get one. I was a bit surprised when I won them both. No problem it took me about 2 minutes after showing my TV to my boating friends to sell the extra one (at a small profit of course) to one of my boating friends. Now I find out the boats on both sides of me have the exact same TV and all 4 of us Vizio owners are as pleased as we can be with our purchases.Read full review...

Good used HDTV for multi-use

Generally a good HDTV purchased used or new. I use for computer monitor at 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, or 1366x768 via VGA or HDMI ports. I also use it as a composite monitor for my CCTV recorder, but the picture is streched to the wide screen width. I also ocasionally watch TV off the air. Good picture and great signal sensitivity. I live 30 miles (line-of-sight) from the HDTV transmitter site and can receive a good signal with an indoor antenna (piece of wire), through a window.Read full review...

WOW ! I am a techie and I love this lcd Tv.
The VA19L HDTV blows my socks off !

We have a 42 inch 1080i LCD Vizio and like it very much, that's why we bought this thing.

The picture quality is fantastic; clear, sharp, and the color is astounding.

Great TV for the price

Great TV for patio/garage had several and all have lasted a long time. Perfect for local channels only, not smart or 4k. No gaming use either.
