Truly a Treasure!

A lifetime Disney fan (and in the process of planning a Disney wedding!) I was naturally intrigued when Disney began releasing their "Walt Disney Treasures" line of DVDs. Each cartoon included on this set, that includes Mickey Mouse's famous, original cartoon "Steamboat Willie," is a quaint look into an older style of animation that is shadowed by the amazing quality of contemporary computer animation and even stop-motion animation.

The included commentary is surprisingly informative (and interesting!) and gives valuable insight about the current quality of cartoons upon the release of these original gems as well as rare information about Walt Disney. Not rich in bonus features, but certainly rich in history, this would be a fabulous purchase for ANY Disney or cartoon/animation fan.Read full review...

Oh Boy!! Mickey Mouse in Black & White is a delight for all ages!

Wonderful collection! It is so great to see how Mickey evolved thru the years. The quality of the transfer to DVD is terrific. The set includes background and commentary on the famous Mouse's origin. I am glad that I was able to find this Walt Disney Treasures Collection Mickey Mouse in Black & White vol. 1 and at a good price compared to others. It was new, unopened. Came very quick and am excited to own it since I am a huge Disney fan especially when it comes to the classics. It was nicely packed in newspaper and bubble wrap. When I saw the Mickey Mouse in black and white dvd in the store years ago, I bought it thinking that Steamboat Willy would be on the DVD; but then I noticed that it was Mickey Mouse in black and white volume 2. I have been wanting volume 1 for a long time, but Amazon was too expansive. So I waited and over time I forgot about it. I recently went on eBay and I found it for cheaper. Mickey Mouse for every Mickey-fan!

This dvd is impossible to buy in Europe. It´s very interesting to see all the first of Mickey´s movies. The quality of the films are very good. And you get a lot of them to a very small price. I strongly recommend this to any of Mickey´s fans all over the world. Sorry that the region code is only for US and Canada but if you could make your dvdplayer regionfree there is no problem watching them.Read full review...
