Short review of the once ubiquitous Fletcher class Tin Cans.
I served in the Navy on a tincan--a slightly larger Gearing Long Hull version. So I can appreciate a picture book on Cans. This one is informative. This one is short. It won'y over whelm you with detail but still give the non-nautically minded person a general idea of life (and death) on the high seas aboard a small fighting ship. Recommended.Read full review...

Fletcher DDs in Action
I purchased this book to complete voids in my collection.
I liked the many pictures of the different configurations of the class of ship over the war years and post war. I liked the stories providing details of their actions in the many Pacific battles. The illustrations are good.
I would have preferred the different weapon configurations be grouped together instead of spread throughout the book.
It does provide good reference when modeling the ships with other than normal configuration.Read full review...
