NOT DUAL BAND !

I made the mistake of ASSUMING this bridge was dual band(2.4 & 5 GHz) as was most all the models I researched. It is not. You have to read the users manual to discover that your router must be 5GHz or 2.4 and 5 simultaneously. Going back and looking closely at the specs and features info, there is no mention of this. My router is a Verizon Jet Pack which can output either 2.4 or 5 GHz, but not both simultaneously. Once I figured out the problem, everything "hooked up" and worked. Only problem is, I have devices that are 2.4 GHz ONLY. So, if I want to use them, I have to go into the setup on the router and switch it to 2.4GHz, then back to 5 GHz to use my "main" devices.
The bridge works fine,,,,so far. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the lack of accurate information in the advertisement. Price, shipping, and quality are good.
Would recommend it IF you are sure it will connect to your router.

Didn't work well with my Nighthawk

I can honestly say the setup was extremely easy. I plugged it in, pointed a browser to the appropriate address ,and voila, it was connected to my router. After that, the problem started.

WD claims that this is compatible with all brands of routers. In my case it wasn't. I have a Netgear Nighthawk X4 R7500. It is an AC router (AC2350), so I figured connecting it to an AC bridge would be a marriage made in heaven. Wrong!

I connected a TV to the bridge for video streaming. Things started well, but after about an hour, video froze. I had to power cycle the bridge to re-establish its connection to the router. I had to keep doing this, so there must have been some kind of protocol conflict between the router and the bridge. I just couldn't get them to play with each other without issue.

I then used an older Netgear N750 router as a bridge to the same TV. No buffering. No lag. No Freezing. So again, there must have been a conflict of some type between the Netgear router and the WD bridge. The Netgear router to Netgear bridge setup worked flawlessly.

I wished it had worked for me, but it didn't. I still give it points for ease of setup and administration.

Works flawlessly. FAST but was a bit difficult to pair with router Linksys

For the money this WD Bridge has performed flawlessly for 2 months now while connected to my Linksys EA6400. This was purchased to cure an issue I was having with my Samsung All in One PC. The PC which runs Windows 8.1 (awful) refused to keep a stable wifi connection. I was torn between buying a new OS (Windows 7) or trying a bridge. The bridge did the trick not one disconnect or reboot needed in over two months and I am receiving true AC speeds.

I will say that I did have issues connecting the bridge to my router. I had to trick the router in to accepting the bridge. Can remember the exact method I used... sorry a few IPA's will do that to you. Anyways, I would recommend this to a friend and will also consider WD for my future networking needs.

I love it, much cheaper than the Xbox 360 wireless adapter with bonus ports

Works outstandingly well. I wanted to use it in my basement rather than purchase a wireless adapter for my Xbox 360. I did initially have to plug it in near my wifi router and setup WPS first because WPS wasn't working when it was in the basement. After making sure WPS functioned next to the router and the configuration was set I moved the device to my basement and haven't had any issues. I've also unplugged it and plugged it back in as I've rearranged things and the configuration stayed.Read full review...

Idea Good Product Not

Both bridges did not work right out of the box. One was stuck in perpetual boot up never getting to the next phase. The other would not recognize my router sitting 6 inches away during WPS connection or manual entering of sign in data.Read full review...

WD Bridge Just Works

I bought this for my home entertainment system Yamaha amp and Sony blue ray player to replace a Yamaha Yma-10 that I bought new in the package and never worked,
I’m going to say make sure that you download the owners manual for it and read it before you try to install it and use it.
I’m very happy with this Bridge as it works great for what I’m using it for.
I’m thinking of buying another one for my garage so I can have wireless to wired internet access in my garage for my amp and laptop.
I’m going to say get it don’t hesitate it’s well worth it!!

Great connection, minor non-deal-breaker issues

I ended up using WPS to pair, then turned that feature back off on my router. Connection is great. I’ve had two brief power outages since starting to use. The Wi-Fi link doesn’t survive the outage, and I have to power cycle the bridge. Minor inconvenience... mostly very happy with my new fast home office connnection.Read full review...

Does the job I needed it for and more.

Product was a little more difficult to set up that I thought but it worked just perfectly once up and running. I found out however that I had to disable the MAC address filtering security feature on my router for it to work and am still not sure why since I did input the bridge's MAC address in my router as a permitted device on my LAN.Read full review...
