Overrated

If I could sum up this movie with only one word, I'd say "overrated". Woody and Wesley do fantastic jobs with their acting and they play basketball really well. A young Rosie Perez (before becoming a TV host) did an excellent job portraying her character too. The script is where this movie really slumps. Such a poorly written script, so many plot holes and so many useless scenes too. The first half of the movie was great but the second half is really a dog. Again the cast did an excellent job with what they did and I saw no miscasts, but the worst part about this movie was the ending. I'd never trust anyone who stole money from me and the fact that Woody and Wesley's characters become friends in the end after that is really surprising to me. Also, the fact that Woody's character chose basketball over the woman he loved also bothered me and showed that his character was immature and didn't develop in the movie (although it was all expected to happen). It was also very unrealistic and unlikely that Wesley's character would actually help Woody's character knowing how much he didn't care about him to take away his money twice. Again the second half of the movie is really awful, but the first half is great and so is the acting. Very corny but also realistic in some ways. The basketball scenes are great and Woody and Wesley make an excellent acting team. Worth a watch on Netflix but don't buy it.Read full review...

White Men Can't Jump

Billy and Sydney think they're the best basketball hustlers in town, so when they join forces, nothing can stop them, except each other. To add to their problems, Billy owes money and is being chased by a pair of gangster types.Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson team up on the playgrounds of L.A. to hustle all comers. The direction is sharp and the cinematography is surprisingly impressive as the mean streets of Los Angeles are caught with striking camera shots. The movie is intelligent, focused, and clever. If you like Wesley Snipes or Woody Harrelson you will for sure love this movie.Read full review...

Great Movie

"White Men Can't Jump" is an hysterically funny movie that is one of the funniest I've seen. Director Ron Shelton has made other sports comedies before but this is his best one. Wesely Snipes and Woody Harrelson play off each other perfectly and make a memorable team. This film is highly profane but it has very inventive and witty dialoge. A very funny film.Read full review...
