Ok well here's what happened.

Got the game in a yellow envelope as opposed to a box The air pads in the envelope popped (duh it's a damn envelope) which resulted in a cartridge clip breaking. Not a big deal as the game still worked and a drop of super glue fixed the issue. But the whole thing could of been avoided if it would have been shipped correctly in a packed box. This game is the one that made me love Yoshi. Yes, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bro. is good, but this game captured me and started me down the path of actually liking Yoshi. The game is fantastic from the music to the gameplay. An added bonus is that you get to choose which color Yoshi you wanted to play as. As you go through levels and if you make a mistake you lose that color Yoshi. Somehow the game actually made you care about each individual Yoshi and forced you to question if you wanted to risk your favorite color Yoshi. By the end of the game you actually feel accomplished as the storybook comes to a conclusion (the game is played liked a book and each level is a chapter). For any fans of the Super Mario Bros. or Yoshi games I highly recommend this. Keep in mind like most N64 games, it isn't the longest, but you'll have fun during the play through.Read full review...

While it does not win any awards for gameplay, I have found it to be more than entertaining as a very casual game. Though, be warned- when my game arrived it was set to Japanese. I miss playing the game, and it worked perfectly. I just wished the shipping didn't take so long, because I was most excited to receive this one, but it arrived 3 or 4 days after the rest (Yoshi was ordered the day before). A fun and whimsical return to the roots of wonderful enjoyable games

I just recently received this game, and have spent a few hours playing it. It is definitely different from many platform games, as it is in the format of a storybook, complete with "storybookish and cartoonish" graphics, colors and just the whole general look of everything. It also plays like a storybook, rather than like a conventional side scrolling platform game. But it is still tons of fun and it is still quite challenging. Good gaming skills and coordination are required to play the game - you'll need all the skills you have to have in order to play any Mario or Yoshi game out there. I don't like this title quite as much as titles such as Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island, but it's definitely worth having and really is enjoyable to play. Plus there are a total of 24 levels (six "chapters" that each have four levels), plenty of bosses and many things to discover and look for. And there are different strategies you can use to accomplish the various things you are trying to do. Plus, it's Yoshi! Yoshi the fruit eating, enemy munching, egg tossing dinosaur! How can any game with Yoshi fail to deliver fun and awaken the playful child in us all. Answer: It can't!
