Young Frankenstein filmed all in black-and-white to give the original looking field of the original Frankenstein. The story is about the grandson or great grandson of Frankenstein, who hates to be called that name because was associated with it But learns he can reanimate life. The movie is as funny as it can be with lines that you really have to listen to to catch Some of the same cast that were in blazing saddles Gene Wilder and Melbrook both had a fear of Frankenstein when they were young kids and I thought of making a parody of it created this classic movie that has some of the most rememberable lines. Very good movie. Follows the original Frankenstein story lines, but instead of the dark, scary tale, you see a satirical side with laughs throughout. Cast of characters are perfect for their roles.

How I liked Young Doctor Frankenstein.

I never saw the movie when it first came out. But I do remember it being released when I was a teenager. Now I saw it in my 60s. I loved it. Quite funny, great actors, I really enjoyed the making of YDF, on the special features segment. The monster was played by Ray Ramono’s dad, from Everybody Loves Raymond. He was a young man as the monster in YDF. But you may not recognize him. Excellent film. Highly recommended. Every actor is hilarious.Read full review

Young Frankenstein

This is a favorite movie of mine. I love how the characters develop throughout the movie. Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman. Terri Garr and Madeline Kahn have wonderful chemistry onscreen. Add in Cloris Leachman as Frau Blucher and you have hilarious scenes. Peter Boyle as the monster and the great Gene Hackman round out this cast.
