Uplifting and upbuilding

I actually bought and had this book sent as a birthday present, being I liked my own so well.

The recipient has not gotten around to reading it yet, but thanked me, and said it looks like just what he needed. I thought so too.

I had never heard of Joel Osteen at all, but evidently he's been around for quite some time. When flipping threw the tv channels one night, landed upon one of his sermons. I'm not sure why I paused - as I am a nurotic channel flipper, but I'm glad I did, and have been a fan every since.

Ok, so back to the book, it is filled with insight and scriptures, and insight into the scriptures - it's just an all around upper. You'll love it - I promise. Wish I could even leave more than 5 stars....

Great spiritual book to help improve our lives, highly reccomended

Your Best Life Now - Joel Osteen

Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen is mainly about how to make the person feel good about themselves, to improve their thinking, and the way they live. It is to influence those who not only want to change their life but to give insight in how he or she will change their thinking. This book teaches those who read it to live a positive life and not speak negative about their situations or circumstances. It also tells about what they say in life it can, and will happen if they believe it. Many people don’t realize why so many problems are going on in their life, well its because of the word they speak day by day. The words we speak determines our future. It doesn’t matter what we say, well thats my opinion. It does matter because our life can become in ruins if we don’t think about what we saying. Those that are against God, or not into spiritual books then they would not like it. Many people today don’t believe in God because they think it is un-cool or don’t want to be rejected by their peers. The truth is we can overcome those words. We may think that God never answers pray, or don’t think he will prosper us in all that we do. He can and will prosper us if we ask him too. It doesn’t matter who we are or what background we are from, if we believe in him he can change our life for the better and will do more than we can ask. This book gives insight to how we can motivate our thinking and the way we look at ourselves. In this book it tells us how to speak to our problems and they will go. It also tells us what words we should and should no say. “What we think in our heart we will become.” Your Best Life Now was great, overall I think those who would like it are those who are into spiritual books that improve our lives. I would give this book a rating of a five out of five , because of the content and information that it covers. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it, because if we want to live a prosperous and positive life then this book is for them. YOUR BEST LIFE NOW by JOEL OSTEEN (2004)

I purchased the book on the advice of my dental hygientist who knew I had been having a rough time emotionally since the death of my mother. However, she meant the DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Joel Osteen, but when she wrote the information down for me she put: "YOUR BEST LIFE NOW (Joel Osteen)."
But, since I had purchased it, I have been reading it. I didn't think much of it until Chapter 15. I wouldn't consider it a REALLY RELIGIOUS book although he does, of course, make many references to Jesus, prayer, etc. I feel it is mostly on building your self-esteem, getting rid of negative thinking and starting each day with positive comments; all of which are good things.
At this point, I'm on Chapter 21 and am more anxious to read it each evening. I also purchased Mr. Osteen's DAILY DEVOTIONALS which is what was originally recommended to me and look forward to starting that book after finishing YOUR BEST LIFE NOW.
I don't feel the book is what I need right now; not what I was hoping for, but still worth my time to read it.Read full review...

My Dying Wish Is For My Children To Use This Book

I purchased this book because of what I saw in Joel Osteen on TV, his enthusiasm and faith in God the Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ was so right on. If I were to die today my last will and testament would be for everyone in my family and all my loved ones to read and incorporate the principles in this book into there daily lives. I've purchased 5 of Joel's books so far for myself and family and plan to buy one for each member of my family and, I recommend it to friends also. The simple principles in this easy to read book are based on the Holy Bible which I believe to be the Word of God. If God is with us who can be against us? The principles shared within this book work if you work them, I know I've experienced them first hand as has Joel. Iam a recovered alcoholic and a Grateful Member of Alcoholic's Anonymous which is probably the largest self help group around. God grant me serenity....is the beginning of a prayer we use daily in AA. I believe God is truly the only one that can grant use true serenity and hope that you come to realize this too. Iam convinced that the success of Alcoholics Anonymous is based on God and principles used that are very much like the ones explained in Joel's book. God our Father loves us all and wants Your Best Life Now! Reading Joel's book gives down to earth detailed examples of how God works in our lives.

Fear not, trust in God your Heavenly Father and expect preferential treatment in all your affairs. Amen

Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen (2004)

I purchased this book for myself to help with my walk of faith. It is an easy to understand book with 7 steps to follow on how to live in our ever changing world. If you question what the Bible says and how we should live to get closer to God, this is a good book to start with. The author uses personal experiences and gives suggestions as to how it relates to the Bible and God's teachings. I have read the book twice and will read it again - each time getting more out of it as it relates to my own life. As you read through the pages, think of ways God has spoke to you and what your reaction has been. The author helps us see different ways of looking at things and offers suggestions on how to get closer to God - a God who loves us unconditionally and understands where we are and helps us get to where we could be. There is nothing I didn't like about the book and would suggest it to anyone - whether you are a young teen or retired.Read full review...

What a man of God

Joel present people with the way to live life better, however if you are some on that has your better life now, he gives you info on how to tweek it jsut enough to get eth best out of your life and live life to it fullest everyday with GOD at the forfront. If you a get a chance go by lakewood in houston Joel and his wife take time after everyservice to say hi to visitors and to meet with them and shake hands take picture and sign a book or what ever you happen to bring with you. the tv and articles and books don't do him justice. He is far nicer in person that what anyone coudl ever imagine....he is a true man of God that has realized how to have his best life now....Read full review...

For my mother-in-law

I purchased several copies of this book on ebay as presents for my brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. For several years now I have shopped and banked for my mother-in-law. Since her health started failing and she lost her husband to cancer she became unable to do things for herself. She was an avid reader and because of her battle with diabetes was losing her eye sight. I joined the Doubleday Large Print book club to keep her in reading material as that was all she had to keep her entertained and as I said before she was an avid reader. On July 24th of this year she returned home from a short stay in Birmingham, AL to be seen by a doctor about an unusual lump. She had been diagnosed with cancer. Upon returning home, she called me and seemed in good spirits. She downplayed her diagnosis and was cheerful. Before hanging up she asked me to purchase or check out a special book for her and she didn't care if it was small print or not. (This was unusual as she could no longer read small print.) The book she requested was Joel Osteen's "Your Best Life Now". She passed away that night of heart failure. As I prayed on her passing I was touched to purchase copies of this book for her children - 3 sons and 2 daughters to give to them as Christmas presents this year. I have not been able to bring myself to read this book as yet. I still can't go to her house or walk through her door again. In time I'm sure I will, but I can't walk through that door unless I am carrying armloads of groceries for her. So although I cannot tell you personally of this book - I know it was important to a very sweet lady and therefore important enough for me to order it for her children.Read full review...

Beyond Self Help this is awesome!

If you are looking for a book to stimulate your thinking, and kick you into postive gear - this is it! So rich with practical and simple things to implement into your life - I found that a lot of the things he wrote, I am already doing. This book takes you up a couple of levels from self-help, positive thinking books, to real life stuff you can do, and it isn't religious it's practical. It puts faith into the sails of your boat, and helps you really get a positive attitude in your life. A great kick start for anyone who is stuck in a rut and searching to better themselves and become more positive about life.If you already have a positive attitude, this will confirm and energize you.
