I really like the game, it is really easy to use and very motivated. Highly recommend for those who wants to do some exercise but don't have the time to go to the gym.

Not for Older people!

We are both 73 years old and trying to keep ourselves healthier. This is not for us. There is no way that we could find to start slower and get better. My husband even signed in and said he was 83 hoping the game would lower the spee d ad expectations--no luck, it just went as fast as before. This game may be ok for someone who is already in good shape. It is not for older or less athletic peopleRead full review...

Wii Jenny McCarthy Your Shape Workout disk

The Jenny McCarthy "Your Shape" workout disk for Wii has a good fitness pre-test and good workout in general, but something I did NOT like about it was that even when you DO have your arms or knees lifted highly, she tells you to lift them higher. May have been due to the lighting or camera settings, but I'm not sure. I also think in my own personal case, I will use a different workout until I can get in better shape and stamina to be able to keep up with "Jenny". I didn't like feeling like I was getting yelled at for not putting enough effort into my workout. I expect this feature was meant to be encouraging and to keep you on track, but overall, I don't think I'm ready for the intensity! I will, however, try it again, when I'm more in shape for "Your Shape"!Read full review...

Makes you sweat!

Your shape allows you to have profiles of four different people. After completing a profile you're able to start working out. Before each workout you can click on a body part and choose what you would like to do: burn, strength, or tone. I only wish you could save the information so you don't have to go through this process before each workout. I feel it gives me a good workout. It reviews a set of exercise I do, and then decides what to do for the next set of future exercises.
During the workout you are told to "follow me". You're scaned with the camera, and if your legs or arms are not in the correct form you are told to check out arms/legs. You are not told how to correct them, but looking at yourself on the screen and comparing yourself with Jenny will help you to figure it out. My teen daughter finds it a little annoying to hear repeatedly "check your arms...", but if you put it on mute, problem solved. It also commends you when you are doing well.
All in all I like the workouts, and I would reccomend it to a friend.

Its great for the beginner but don't over do it.

I haven't exercised in a long time,I dance but don't exercise used the cd twice threw out my knee doing jumping jacks and lunges, guess at 67 I should have got a easier cd. But I love it and am using the exercises that don't enclude using my legs so much. Can't wait to get to use it all again. Its a great start up exercise cd for a beginner like me just don't over do it like I did.
The only thing I would change is make me larger in picture hard to tell what I am doing. And next time let jenny say different things. Gets crazy hearing her say the same ole stuff.
It definitely keeps you moving and lot of tutorials I like that.
I bought this tape to get me back in shape for dancing this winter. Didn't realize how heavy my butt got in the last 3 months of inactivity. But hopefully soon I will be at it again along with my wii fit and dance revolution cd. Hope everyone enjoys this cd as much as I do. But the seasoned excerciser will most likely not like it but a beginner should love it.

Great idea for a game but not as fun as a game

Before buying this game, as a stay at home mom with a newborn, I thought this would be the perfect thing for when my kid is napping. I love that no equipment is needed, but you can add what you already own if you like (step, weights, yoga ball). You can also schedule your workouts on the calendar, then once you have completed the workout it is registered online.

After playing for 2 weeks, here is what I think:
The workouts are extremely repetitive. Even when I add weights and a step, the moves don't change. My least favorite part about incorporating equipment is it comes and goes so quickly. For example, you may use the step for one set and then it's gone for the next but you need it again for the next set. This wouldn't be annoying except for the fact that Jenny waits for you to get it and put it away, so you're standing around (or jumping in my case to get a workout). The pace is steady, but not challenging. I like to work out for 60 minutes, but this is best geared for 15 or 30 minutes, since the repetition gets so boring. It's best for short workouts, great for those with little time.

The best part is seeing your own image so you can work on perfect form-almost like being in front of a mirror in the gym.

There is a section for extra challenges where you can enter codes. So far I haven't found any information about it, even when signing up with Ubisoft.

This is by far the best work-out video I've ever had!

This video is fantastic. It monitors your level of fitness and you have the option to go with a suggested workout, or customize your own. I am challenged every time I use it. The results are weight loss, more energy and inches lost!
The ubisoft cam is easy to install and use and makes all the difference in the workout. The game also keeps track of your progress so you can really see how much you're doing. I've recommended the product to all my friends.

I want to slap her

As others have said, even you you are spot on the moves the camera or program does not recognize this every time and the Jennybitch tends to be a little annoying with her "watch my moves" comments. While the program is certainly very useful and sometimes fun, it pales in comparison to the EA Active 2. You can't pick individual exercises and tailor a program, and there is NO WAY the calorie counts are even close to being accurate. Come on, 20 minutes of easy stuff and you think it burns 150-350 calories. Don't fool yourself put on a HRM and you will see that the program is maybe 1/2 way close.

I do like the program and I use it as part of a rotation of Wii games, as I don't want to get tireds of them all too fast. It's well worth the $25.00 I paid for it and I do like that I don't need any strap on sensors to use it.

Have fun with it and slap Jenny for me every time she say's a comment that is annoying to you.

Your Shape is a motivating way to get back in shape!

I purchased this game a few weeks ago as my first fitness game for the Nintendo Wii system. I have not tried out any other fitness games yet, so this is my impression of this game not comparing it to others.

The camera that comes in the box works great! The instructions have a few tips for making sure the camera sees you well - things like making sure you don't wear the same colour clothes as the background in your room, and have good lighting. We found it worked even better when wearing a contrast to the background: I have a dark couch, so I wore white pants and it recognized me fine.

My whole family tried this out, and we've been having a great time. My teenager likes to make fun of the program while he works out, but the feedback on the screen shows that he is still getting a good workout. Even my 6 year old tried it for fun, and had a good time. I told him that he needs to do a 15 minute workout before he plays sitting down video games.

The camera lets you see your own form on the screen, next to the figure that is being your personal instructor. You match your action to hers for correct form, and the voice guides you. I really like the feedback - it lets me know if I need to move my arms more, or motivates me with encouraging phrases. Things you normally hear the personal trainer telling you at the gym.

I liked that I can make a custom program with a calendar, and plan my workouts. I also like that I can choose special challenges, or just generalized workouts with goals like weight loss, toning up, or my favourite one the new mom workout where it helps you get used to working out again. That's the one I'm doing. During a workout, you have the option to click on the tutorial link to learn more about how to do certain moves. That was very helpful.

After a workout, the display shows you how many calories you've burned, and an equivalent to how far you've moved and how much you've lifted. It keeps track of your progress, and adjusts the workouts for your level and progress automatically.

Bottom line: I think this program is awesome, and I'm glad I got it! A great beginner fitness program to ease your way back into shape!

Good game w/out all the extras needed for Wii Fit.

Very good exercise, workout game. The camera works great and tracks your every move very well. No Wii controllers, mats or boards required, freeing up your hands, arms, legs and feet to focus on the requirements of the game with your eyes and ears only. It should be stated that my 10 year old daughter says that sometimes she thinks Jenny is too mean!Read full review...

Your shape, great workout

This is a good workout, she really makes you move. The camera has a little trouble following you sometimes i think. My room is dark too and that causes part of the problem i think. I started out with the wii fit, then the EA Sports and Your Shape. I don't really use the Wii Fit anymore because it doesn't give you the workout as the other two. She does ask you to choose what workout accessories but then doesn't always use them I have never had to use my stabilizer ball, used the steps and hand weights only once or twice. But I would recommend it.Read full review...
