Good product for use with xlr mics

The P4 I received was brand new. My only problem with it is because I am a newbie to recording and didn’t realize that my lavalier mics would not work with it. You must use xlr mics. So, I have to buy another mic. :(Read full review...

I like it.

I got to use the P4 a couple of days after I received it. Ran 2 mics, both came out great, uploaded to a video and all of it worked fine. I like the small package. It's great for field recording. I like to rotational pots, and not slides. These don't get bumped, and take up less space. Again, as a straight forward field recorder it works great.Read full review...

Work Flow Game Changer

I am a professional broadcast radio guy working primarily with pre-recorded interviews. This unit has simplified my workflow. Normally I record interviews on a digital recorder using a pro-grade mic and then transfer the file to a computer for final editing. When I need to add more material, such as "back after this..." or "you're listening to" I plug in a USB mic into the computer and record directly.

This unit allows me to record to it, transfer the file via USB cable for editing and use the SAME setup to record directly into the computer using the SAME mic as was used for the interview. For a new user, this means buying one good mic instead of two.

The unit records as WAV files, can use FOUR mics, runs on battery or USB "C" cable for power and has four "pads" which are reserved buttons that will play pre-recorded files of your choice.

Pretty incredible for the price.

Perfect for podcast!

Easy to set up and use. I tried doing podcast through computer and had too many issues...bought this plugged in mics and was up and running no issues in 10mins.....110% recommended this product to anyone getting into podcast as it takes all the headaches of setups, editing, and tweaking out of the equation. Pretty much plug and play..just some fine tuning and good to go!Read full review...

Better Than Advertised

This unit is tremendous for the price! Works great without a lot of over complicated bells and whistles. I was able to put it to use they day I received it. I highly recommend checking out some YouTube videos on set up and operation. If this is a piece of equipment you're looking for, you won't be disappointed!Read full review...

Required gear in your live/podcastingf rig.

Better than expected. USB and smart phone stereo recording a huge plus. The two usb c connectors are mounted too close together. Not a big deal. Mic inputs are clean. USB audio back to PC automatic. Negative: No included 1/4"-20 mount.

OVERALL: this is the shizznik for 4 way podcasting production assembly.

IT is NOT a "Porta Studio" and does not have the standard bells and whistles of such. BUT it can record 4 live tracks to 44.1 mono wave and organizes the project and save it.

GET JIGGY WIF IT BRAH.

Overall rating: WTF Hellas R U waiting for? This one is the Thing, You Know, THE THING !!!

Affordable Quality Podcast Recorder

I was starting a podcast with a friend, After an exhausting search, we bought what we thought would be the most economical product for producing a quality podcast. We have now used the Zoom ZP4 recorder into our 2nd year of the podcast and 60 podcasts later and still going strong! Check out the quality on one our podcasts "Reel Dealz: Movies and Music Thru The Decades." We absolutely give it our highest recommendation!

Gets the job done

Works very well for what it is. It would be nice if it could provide a $48, 000 kilohertz simple rate or even recognize things other than wav format but that's not a deal breaker. Still works great for what it does. You just have to ask yourself will it suit your needs for your intended use.Read full review...

Perfect little recorder

Had this about a month now and got it specifically for the guitar. It can handle XLR and 1/4" inputs just fine and the amount of effects for the guitar are amazing. The audio picked up from just the microphones alone are enough. This is not too big nor too small to be considered a handheld recorder.Read full review...

Amazing for podcasting, but not great for much else.

It lack certain normal features to make it useful as a general recording device, yet it has several things indespensable and several things incredibly helpful for podcasting.
