Cheaply made.. posses risk to pets
1 of 1 found this helpful I order one of these to see how if would work for my 18 yr old cat who is on a kidney diet food..
We have another cat who is on diabetic diet food.. The first cat got the hang of it real quick.. I found a video of another consumer who advised putting the feeder it a narrow area directing the cat to walk straight to the feeder to eliminate it from closing on their head..
which helped.. however.. the diabetic cat decided to force her way in and the when the other cat walked away.. the lid would close on her head.. this was going on.. to the point were the cat actually didn't seem to care about the lid closing on her and it actually stripped the gears out so the lid doesn't close all the way now..
The other issue is when the cat's get towards the bottom of the bowl.. the sensors hang too low and the lid closes on them as well.. there are similar products out there that costs 2-3x more.. I'm almost tempted to see how they work..
Also BE WARNED.. it's a nice picture of the power supply with is NOT included.. it would be nice if they had mentioned that as well.. They list the power supplies for over $20.00 but I've found ones as low as $6.
