Bonide Shot-Gun Hot Pepper Wax Animal Repellent Spray 32 oz.

Product too weak to be effective but very safe to use

When using products containing Capsaicin I often experience burning of the eyes and skin so I try to be very careful using these products. I noticed no such effects with this product. I placed a tiny drop of this product on my tongue and felt no burning. When I checked the product label I found the Capsaicin content was only .00001125%. When I compared this product to one used to repel dogs I found the Capsaicin content was .35 % for the dog repellent. The Capsaicin content of the Bonide product is so watered down I believe it is not effective. If I did the math correctly my 1.5 oz of dog repellent has as much Capsaicin as 1465 containers (32 oz bottles) of Bonide animal repellent.

Nice heater in a small package

This unit packs a good deal of heat in a small package. However, when operated at 2kw the left hand side of the louver reaches temperatures in the 180 to 200 degree range. This is not acceptable in my opinion if you have small children near the unit. In my case I disconnected one of the parallel heating elements which reduced the output to about 1kw and the louver temperature dropped to about 130 degrees. When you enter the room were this unit is operating you may be aware of the operation of the fan; however,I would not rate the noise as excessive. The way this unit is recessed in the wall makes a nice way to add heat to a space with little impact on a room appearance.
