Fair for a beginner
2 of 5 found this helpful Good: It's easy to use and has a fairly large screen. The image quality, on the screen at least, seemed fine. It's aesthetically pleasing.
Bad: It has a 40X optical zoom but doesn't focus in on small objects. It doesn't have a viewfinder so you always have to use the display screen which uses up more battery power. This also makes it more difficult to take pictures outdoors on sunny days. The screen slides up and down. This is better than some cameras, but it doesn't turn inward to protect the screen.
Conclusion: There is very little advantage to this camera over a pocket camera the size of a pack of cigarettes. The optical zoom (as long as you're nit taking tight shots) and the look and feel of the body are the only real benefits.
Full disclosure: I ended up returning this item.
