Top cleaning performance & built to last a lifetime.
15 of 16 found this helpful I just bought a Kirby Diamond G, after owning a Kirby Dual 50 for 40 years. I still have the D-50, by the way ...it was just factory rebuilt for the fourth time, and I will be using it on the upper level of my two-story house.
This illustrates what I regard as the only disadvantage of the "Generation" and "Sentria" models. They are heavy machines for wives to carry up and down the stairs, so I will now have a Kirby on each floor.
However, the positive side of their weight is their all-metal construction. They truly are built to last a lifetime, and I have not found another upright vacuum that does as good a job on carpet. Plus, the self-propelled drive feature makes cleaning effortless and forward/reverse is instant and self-sensing.
Cleaning efficiency and performance are tops with a Kirby, in my opinion.
The Kirby has a rug head design that has excellent airflow properties. It is airflow, not suction, that cleans a rug. Add to that, a height adjustment that allows one to compensate for different carpet thicknesses, and you get superior removal of the grit and dirt that causes worn spots in your high-traffic areas.
You always know when you hit the right height adjustment, as you can see the carpet being lifted right up off the underpad. When this happens, air is being pulled all the way through the entire carpet, carrying away the dirt. No other cleaner works as effectively ...most clean only the surface.
I chose the "Ultimate G Diamond Edition" model in particular, because I regard it as the best of the Kirby models built in the last 20 years. It has a two-speed motor, with a switch that allows you to reduce suction for cleaning throw rugs and lightweight area rugs, without having to stop, or stoop. I understand this feature was not carried over to the Sentria model, perhaps to save production cost(?)
To sum up, I chose my "Diamond G" primarily because of 40 years of ownership experience with a Kirby. In this day of cheaply-made, plastic-bodied vacuums that usually last three years, or less, and can't even come close to the cleaning job a Kirby will do ...well, you just couldn't sell me anything else.

Ideal for HD videos.
1 of 1 found this helpful If you have a digital camera that takes photos at 14 megapixels, or above, and/or has HD video capability you need a memory card with a high transfer rate to make the most of the camera's abilities. At 80MB/sec., Sandisk's latest memory card gives me crystal clear HD videos and remarkable photo resolution ...even when I enlarge photos to poster size. I use both Nikon and Fuji digital cameras (depending on subject/conditions) and am getting excellent results from these cards, in both brands.

Great comfort at a low price!
2 of 2 found this helpful I'm an airbed fan for the comfort and support they provide, plus they don't get uncomfortably warm like (most) memory foam mattresses. I have owned several airbeds over the last few years, and the main disadvantages are leaks, expansion, and a relatively short lifetime when in constant use. Intex's new "Fiber Tech" material seems to have addressed most of those shortcomings. So far, I have not noticed any expansion and, since the third night of use, I have not had to add any air. I sleep on this airbed every night and get better sleep than I have in years, despite back and joint problems. I've been using it for about a month now, and will be very interested to see how long it lasts. It certainly appears to be a significant improvement over previous types.
