1000 Great Quilt Blocks by Maggi
Mostly black and white with shading...shows how many blocks may make different patterns....good directions...small enough to take to store...great hints...perfect for a beginner or intermediate who just wants more examples.

Starts with a tangle , ends with a art piece!
Takes you from beginner to advanced. This book does not show step by step lots of tangles but rather,it is an introduction and a few tangles and then builds upon that for colors, fillers, ribbons and borders. Then tangle enhancers and finally how to use your tangle drawings inside of other drawings, for instance a tangled hair piece in the hair of a drawn face. So from a beginner tangle to using tangles for more advanced art. IF you want to move forward after learning lots of tangles this book is for you to improve, if you are looking for a taxonomic book of tangles with step by step directions, I would recommend The Great Zentangle Book, with 101 patterns by Beate Winkler. I have thoroughly enjoyed both books. Have fun, destress and enjoy life!
ps I am a quilter who learned Zentangle to improve my quilting ideas, so I am not die hard follow the rules exactly, but rather use it as a great activity while waiting, or not watching TV to see what designs I might like to quilt. Like a doodle only better!
