EBC S11KF1439 - Stage 11 Light Sport Plain Front Brake Kit

Awesome Quality Kit, Fast Shipping from CARiD
I have an inexpensive but fun car. Like all inexpensive cars, the wear parts like brakes are as cheap as the factory can get away with. The pads were shot at less than 30K miles. Rather than try and get blood from a stone and use the stock rotors, I decided to go with a whole kit. I was pretty set on the EBC greenstuff pads and I really liked how their rotors are coated, so they don't rust out and look like junkyard takeoffs in the space of a year. Pleased to report the braking response and overall performance has improved noticeably! You're not going to get night and day improvement from pads and rotors, but I'd say this is about as close to revelatory as you're going to get with a simple upgrade such as this. Can't comment on dust as yet because I hadn't cleared the wheels from the stockers but that's not an issue for me. Big question is going to be longevity. If I can get 25K miles off the pads and 50K miles on the rotors I'd be a happy duck...but for the price I may just replace pads and rotors every time. Do try to follow the break in procedures as best as possible. Performance vs stock was improved right from the get go, however after about ~1000 miles of mostly freeway driving they have improved even more. Great kit for a surprisingly low price!
DC-DC Converter Module 12V To 5V Duble USB Output Power Adapter 3A 15W

Works Great for USB power, with Caveats
In conjunction with an add-a-circuit fuse jumper I was able to install this to add USB power to my car. The two outlets are great...I leave one dangling in the glove box and one I have connected to an in-dash usb receptacle I installed. When I initially installed the device I noticed almost right away I'd get radio interference when using the USB. I was right in the center of a major city and could barely get any radio stations. As soon as I unplugged the USB the problem went away... I initially clipped several ferrites on both ends of the intake wires and while this did show improvement the problem was not solved. However when I snipped the zip ties and physically moved the device around I realized I had essentially tied it to the antenna wire...duh!! I move it about a foot away in a recessed location, kept the ferrites on and covered it in a thin layer of aluminum foil. The foil is directly up against frame steel and is thus grounded. Works perfectly now with zero detectable interference. Time will tell how long it holds up, but it appears to be a well made and well sealed device...I put it through its paces the first 1000 miles charging all kinds of stuff, to see if it would overheat and pop or whatever. Often I would have two devices connected at once. No functional issues to report, aside from the initial interference. In fairness to the device, I really don't think you can expect interference-free operation in this price range. Heck, I don't know if spending triple or quadruple the price would get you total shielding. I have a friend that installed a $1000 camera in his car that put out worse interference than this. Moral of the story, if you're handy with a wrench and are willing to tinker this should work out for you.
