Good choice of words.

This may be the definitive account of the Black Sox scandal, the trial, and the aftermath. If you want to know what happened in 1919-1920, this is your book. The Black Sox scandal wasn't a first attempt at betting on MLB. As some bloke said the national pastime was not baseball but betting on baseball. I wonder if MLB will place a franchise in Las Vegas. I believe it would be a mistake, but with this Commissioner, I would not be surprised if it happened. He just seems to say unusual things ("the World Series...a hunk of metal...") and make oddball decisions.
