Better than the flat type

The flat type (with a light strip down the center) obscures the light when viewed at some angles. This type is visible throughout its length. The light consumes only a few milliamps.

Replace the banana plugs

This is a nice set of leads except that the banana plug shields are so flimsy they break off. I replaced them with proper banana plugs.
