From Sun Studios to RCA: A Tribute to Elvis Presley and his music
Elvis was the great communicator in music. He sang, and his listeners understood what he meant whether it was a live performance or on record. Jorgensen conveys this achievement of Elvis well in his study of the music Elvis recorded and performed. It's all here from the great early recordings on Sun such as 'Baby, Let's Play House', to the gold records recorded on RCA, and the often miserable output from the later movies. The author is a meticulous researcher who provides an in-depth understanding of the records production, sessions and musicians. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to gain some insight into the magic and ability of Elvis Presley.

Classic sides
Both sides of these songs by Elvis, Scotty and Bill are excellent examples of early rock and roll/rockabilly music and how country/pop/and rhythm and blues were fused into a new style. This small three-man group achieved the ability to communicate with its audience through Elvis' singing, Scotty on lead guitar and Bill on slap-back bass. The world would never be the same again.
