Corelle Livingware Winter Frost White 20 Ounce Pasta Bowl (Set of 4)

Corelle is the best choice for everyday wear.
Yes, fancy ceramic dishware might be prettier or more sophisticated but Corelle looks very nice for everyday wear. It does not react to microwave like melamine wear. It is difficult to break or chip. And the most important part is it is lightweight. A stack of 4 plates is easy to pick up with one hand and as we get older that becomes very important. I use Corelle at all my houses.

    Astak EZReader
I give the Astak EZreader an excellent for it's ability to display e-books to read. It does NOT have Wifi or 3G for anywhere downloading or browsing the internet in black and white or reading a subscribed newspaper. You must use a USB cable to load the EZreader. But unlike other readers, it can read the many free internet down-loadable e-books without any need for special converting software. Or having to pay to upload the files to be converted and then downloaded yet again. It doesn't have a touch screen but the push button interface is friendly enough that I did not need to read the manual to operate it. There is an abundance of free or nearly free books on the internet in many different formats and the Astak is compatible with most of them. EPUB, LIT, Text, and PDB work from perfect to nearly perfect. It has some ability with HTML, and PDF files. But that often depends on the way those particular files were made. A simple mostly text HTML file works fine. If it has frames, graphics, and java script - not so good. Similar situation with PDFs. Simply put, if the file format was created for e-books, it will work well in the Astak. If it was for other forms of display(i.e., browser or Acrobat), the Astak may have limitations. I have experience with a Sony and it is disappointingly only compatible with a very few formats. E-book files are very small compared to music files and movies. I downloaded the entire works of Shakespeare in text format and used less than 5MBytes. A single book is sometimes only about 500kBytes. Wow! I haven't been able to use the term kilobyte in years. I have loaded well over two thousand e-books onto my 16Gig SD card. And so far I have only used up 3Gig of the memory! When plugged into the USB of your MSWindows computer, the EZreader mounts at two drive letters just as if it was two flash pens. You can drag and drop the files into the internal memory or onto the removable SD card. No special software is needed whatsoever. Since the display has no backlight you need as much lighting as you normally would to read a paper book and it is nearly as easy to see as printed paper. But the -lack- of a backlight means the battery lasts a very long time. The microprocessor is essentially idling when displaying a page and uses about the same amount of battery as a digital watch. The microprocessor only has to kick into gear and use battery to turn a page or browse through your catalog. That is why battery life is typically specified as a number of page-turns. You can listen to MP3s while you read. But that would certainly tax the battery life more than just reading a book since the microprocessor would have to run continuously. Without music you can probably read two books before needing to recharge. There is a hole at the bottom corner for attaching a lanyard. But the EZreader did not come with one. I used a thin nylon wire-tie to make a loop through the hole and then attached a clip-on lanyard from an office store. I will be on a 14 hour flight next week with the EZReader, and if I fall asleep, the lanyard will keep it in my lap. I'll be gone a week. I don't expect to need to recharge my EZreader until I get back. I expect to have time to read one or two books. And since I will have a huge catalog of books loaded, I can choose whatever I am in the mood for. My carry-on has just gotten much smaller.
