The first ZOMBIE... probably not what you would expect
The first classic ZOMBIE in a comic. Like all "Essential Tales" - it was printed in black and white, which was fine as the original of this particular comic was B&W (wish the covers could have been color though) Really good art work here, just logically couldn't understand how the lead character Simon Garth, when alive had a neat businessman's hair cut and after being dead for about a minute, had long hair and looked like he'd been buried for a long time. I'm rather forgiving as far as comics go - but that made no sense. Also, the ZOMBIE rarely had any will of his own - which got pretty boring as he was constantly lead around by the voodoo amulet. Overall, it was an OK read - but certainly nothing to jump up and scream about and can see why the title didn't last very long... but a nice little jaunt through the past.
