I'm a 50 year old, single mother of 3, who are already raised (almost, my baby is 17!). I have some beautiful cards, comics and a small amount of great collectibles! (Other stuff too, occasionally!). I started with a book of basketball cards that I found in and old, falling apart abandoned shed (empty house for years), and just left them for 25 years in my garage. Then, during Covid, the local convenience store started selling packs of them. I was hooked! I'm not into sports much so it's a little harder to follow stats, but I'm learning! As far as the comics, they too were in the shed for 25 years, sealed in sleeves and plastic containers. you may not see many of them at one time but they'll come and go. I have found that it's so time-consuming to do this, but I'm really enjoying it! Now I just pick up stuff as I go along. If you don't see something you're looking for, ask me. I have over 12,000 sports, TCG and Non-sport cards, 300+ comics and a bunch of random stuff, like vintage costume jewelry, junk drawer items, etc. I'm trying to load my collection into Collx, but it's a slow process.
