Yes - this is the one.
1 of 1 found this helpful There isn't a lot that I can say about this watch that hasn't already been said in dozens of reviews on youtube and various watch sites as it is, but I can try to give you a better perspective if you're still on the fence about pulling the trigger.
First and most importantly, yes - this is what it looks like, its a grand slam by Seiko and I couldn't be happier with it as both an investment piece and a watch that I can't stop wearing - I don't think that I could part with it unless my tastes seriously changed down the road, its gorgeous.
I think for the fairly steep price point, you are still hitting the perfect sweet spot of getting 2,000+ value for sub 1,200 dollars. Its virtually impossible to find a watch that hits all of the style cues that this one does, while having Seiko's heritage and promise of solid quality that you can physically feel when its on your wrist.
My only regret with this piece is that I'm constantly cheating on my omega seamaster with it and I feel like a filthy bugger for leaving it on the shelf so often in favor of this one.
The physical attributes themselves are pretty well on par with everything you'd expect from the 2,000+ price point - movement is smooth as butter, the gloss and attention to details / light play with the dial is easily reaching into watches I've seen in the 4k+ range, to be honest, but without overtly trying to act like it.
The bracelet (to be fair) feels a bit tinny at the clasp, but at this price point I can easily let that slide - the links are nice and thick with brilliant brush work that is obviously a step above anything Seiko has put out with their 900 or less models. In my view, the clasp is the one and only flaw that this watch has and when I say flaw, I mean that its a 4/5 instead of a 5/5.
If you can afford it, get it.
