Love Carolyn Haywood books for beginning...
Love Carolyn Haywood books for beginning readers. This was a great find. Filled with short Halloween/spooky (not too scary) stories perfect for young readers. Condition of a book from the 1980s was just fine.

Perfect material for 7 year old readers
Perfect reading material for beginning readers that are between that awkward stage of content being too simple or modern material that leans snarky, or teeny bopperesque that’s not interesting for a 7 year old. Carolyn Haywood books are yes, outdated, but truly never go out of style. the story lines are generally always approachable and engaging for the 6 to 9 set.

Great for new readers.
Clever poems that are relatively quick to read and words are appropriate for new readers. Kids feel a sense of accomplishment when they get the humor and can read many poems in a sitting. Unlike with a chapter book which can sometimes be intimidating or just take too long.
