Playback works fine.
I bought this camcorder in order to convert old tapes that I had recorded prior to 2010 with a now-deceased camcorder to .wmv or .mp4 files. I have not yet tried the recording functionality.

Instructions incomplete
The unit came with incomplete instructions and no sample code. I was unable to operate it.

So far, so good, but future uncertain
I received and installed Microsoft Office 2010. It seems to work as advertised, but I keep getting messages that the product has not been activated. I don't know if this is a warning that the software may shut down if I do not activate it within a certain time period, but no instructions were provided relating to activation. It could conceivably indicate that this software is not distributed legally.
