A Pleasant Surprise!!!

I wouldn't have thought this to be a movie I'd like. The beginning almost made me turn off but I didn't then it got really good. You have to just get into the movie but then it's like everyone says: an adult love story. Most people I've talked to that haven't seen it think that because of Clint Eastwood it's going to an action film, but it's a much different or at least more sensitively inclined type of Eastwood role. Streep is of course really the star of the film and the two of them do a fantastic job together. Good romance!

place your bets

Gives a good casino games and the different games are integrated into one playing experience like you've got to save up enough money to play baccarat etc. Probably better than actually going there and if you are planning to this is good practice. Very realistic.

Classic Sterling

Several times I passed up reading Distraction due to the political looking cover; I figured Sterling was doing some kind of mainstream type political fiction (which is soooo common these days) but finally--last book I read out of around 300 sci fi--I got around to it and boy was I (pleasantly) surprised, Distraction is classic Bruce Sterling, fun! I get my personal reading from the library but am buying this hardcopy for a friend who asked me to pick her out a couple good sci fi books, and maybe Distraction sticks out since it's the last thing I read but I think it's a good book being modern and not some classic sci fi from the 60s. The near future setting is probably easier for a newbie to sci fi to relate to. Used books are cheap online and it's sooo easy to just buy it and have it sent to someone, then they don't have to go trying to find it and paying too much for it. I would say that if you like Bruce Sterling you'll like Distraction, it rocks!
