Exact replacement
It was delivered in a very reasonable amount of time, given the fact that shipping was free and it came from Korea (I think).
It looks like an exact replacement for the non-functioning one I took out of the microwave. But, there's no way of knowing if it's brand new or if it was taken out of some old microwave. (At the price I paid, it's hard to imagine the former.)
I put it in the microwave and tested it for a minute; it worked fine. The microwave is now a backup unit so I haven't used it since.

What the manual doesn't tell you
6 of 6 found this helpful I use this device to connect my TV to my audio system. When I first hooked it up I just got a lot of strange noise (I think it was clicking and popping, but it was many weeks ago, so I can't remember exactly) coming out. I rooted around my TV's menu, and found a choice for the digital audio output: PCM, or Auto. The default was Auto, so I changed it to PCM, and the sound then came out perfectly.
(I have no idea what kind of output Auto produces, but PCM is, presumably, Pulse Code Modulation.)
They should probably put this in the manual, but, other than that, the device seems to work perfectly, and is a great value.

It's genuine Shimano, and it came very quickly. What more could you want?
