Awesome Scanner
Not sure what people are expecting with the scanning process honestly after reading some complaints in the reviews. This scanner did a tremendous job on the 1600 family slides I converted to digital. Yes, you have to tweak the input settings, and might need to do a little color correction afterward, but that's completely normal. I was even able to re-colorize a photograph that had faded to nearly a B/W or sepia state. It was amazing. As for slides, you have to adjust the initial scan settings to compensate for the loss of integrity over the years. And there might be different batches of slides the require different adjustments. My slides went back to the late 1950's-1960's. Here's a small sample of the slides I scanned dating back to the 50's. These are roughly 60 years old +/-.

Excellent Drone!

Pretty dang cool
it works great! The only issue I had was the finish. It's a sand blasted finish, which is very rough. The finish impedes the movement, so I sanded it smooth with 200 and 400 grit sandpaper and added a dab of synthetic (silicon) grease between the plates. Should have come polished from the mfg IMHO. Also had to file down a few larger imperfections, and some of the magnets were raised up a bit.
