AMD FX-8300 8-Core Black Edition Vishera Processor 3.3GHz Socket AM3+, Retail

About this processor being "8 Cores".
11 of 12 found this helpful PLEASE READ! **This is not a traditional 8 core processor, it is only 4 with two logical processors per core. Effectively making this 8 cores or, 8/8/4 (Logic 8, Threads 8, Cores[4x2]). When you buy this just keep this in mind, your computer will register this, and utilize this as 8 cores, but will only read as 4 in the sysinfo, or task manager. I didn't find this information out, until I seen it first hand, then researching about this tactic on the internet. And lo and behold, its all true. With that all said.. this is still worth the money/time/upgrade if you are going from a traditional 4 core or lower AMD processor. I just wanted to share this with everyone, and possibly help others that find this processor only displaying 4 cores, not 8. Side note, I think its funny that the name of this processor listed on task manager and sysinfo, says (AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor) just to further mask the fact its a four core with two "brains" per core... makes me laugh every time. Cheers!
