Great addition to homelab server
Works in ESXi 6.7 without much issue. Ideally meant for support HP branded servers, but also works in HP branded workstation (z420) after a BIOS settings change.

A disk shelf that holds 24 disks.
1 of 6 found this helpful Proprietary disk shelf that may or not work with non-NetApp hardware and software. Your mileage may vary, so make sure you know what to do, or are willing to chance throwing money away trying to get it to work.

Replacement desktop computer
I'm using this to replace a desktop computer from 2008. I wanted something with more power but didn't want to spend 1000+. After some research, I found this board to be a good fit. It's got XEON, 12 RAM slots, and a couple of PCIe x8 slots for adding graphics and SATA/USB3 options. I'm running with 48GB of memory, dual XEON 5620's, a GeForce 1050 TI. Works great!
