Best Ella?

This is a great recording and Ella sounds perfect. The original 1961 LP is one of my favorite sounding LPs of all time, The 1989 835 646-2 Dennis Drake mastered CD does a pretty great job capturing the LP.

Excellent bang for buck / Great starter or backup bass

While this is not a high end instrument, it's highly playable, has good intonation, is good sounding, has a great feel and is fun to look at. It's a fantastic bang for buck. It wouldn't become my first choice for recording or playing out, but, it would make an excellent backup bass and a wonderful starter bass. I wish my first couple of basses were as good when I started learning. This may actually be comparable to a Squire. I'm sure this was mass produced, but, it really doesn't feel cheap. It's a solid piece of gear. It wasn't a necessary purchase for me, I'm happy I bought it and it didn't really set me back very much.
