Older SSD, New Machine Life
Evo 850s are the about the single cheapest way (coupled with RAM upgrades and clean OS installs) to give older desktops and laptops that "new machine snap" of low latency, high performance. They're older SSDs but IRL feel very close to new NVMEs.

MacBookPro Revival!
Took a paperweight MacBookPro 13" back to running winner. Good to keep as many older (and still capable!) MacBook Pros online as you can before "Green Apple" shreds them.

Optane: the hype is actually justified
The legend of Optane is true!
It's... not cheap... but it is truly WD-40 for Windows OS and application smoothness. If your most uncompromising performance metric is system latency and PCIe 3.0 x4 isn't a real bandwidth issue, the 905p just might be for you.
I was convinced after watching Wendell at Level One Techs extoll its virtues on YouTube and the hype is real. System stutters, application launch hangs? GONE.
It's also a long-term investment: at 10 DWPD rating, this may be my C: Drive for the next ~8 years.
