Time will tell
Time will tell if the quality is present. Reviews for batteries need to be 1-2 years after purchase.

keep one on hand as a spare
This unit has a solid state relay and is recommended by the factory for use up to 1 1/2HP, which controller used a mechanical relay that is much more prone to failure. Also a big plus is that anyone can replace this smaller unit after a lightening surge destroys the start capacitor since no re-wiring is required since it is only necessary to simple pull the "cover" off and push in a new one.
No run capacitor is included, but apparently is not required and is one less part to fail. Any homeowner with a well less than about 600' deep and about 5 GPM output needs this unit!
