Basically a wind-breaker - but it does fold up into a cool pouch
This is a very light-weight jacket, made of the soft material used in inexpensive sleeping bags. So this would not be heavy-duty protection in cold weather. However, it does compact down into a small pouch (in it's own pocket!) allowing it to tuck into the corner of suitcase easily, which is handy. A wind-breaker is less expensive than this jacket, if you only need something to keep the rain off. But if you want a full jacket, with a hood, that will fit in a small corner of your luggage - this works. The red plaid is very bright, the hood is not lined and the zippers are not too sturdy. Overall - interesting special event wind breaker but definitely not a true winter coat.
