Replacement for Original Equipment Cadillac Deville Pump
Item was as described by seller but misleading by manufacturer. Item was represented to be an Original Equipment (OE) AC Delco pump, which I purchased at a much higher price than asian knockoffs. The item box showed it to be made by AC Delco, Detroit, MI. A box label showed the item originated in Mexico. The label on the actual pump inside the box showed a part number and "Made in Singapore". Concerned that I had received a lower quality pump inside an OE box, I verified with Delco that the part number was indeed the OE Delco pump (yes, it was). This suggests Delco is using cheaper pumps made in Singapore, boxing them in Mexico, then importing them into the U.S. to exploit favored Mexico treatment under the North American Free Trade Agreement. In short, I feel cheated twice (but, again, not by the Ebay seller of this pump). I am cheated once by receiving a pump not made within the GM family of OE producers (I fault Delco for that). I am cheated a second time when an item contributes to U.S. trade deficits due to bad trade agreements (I fault U.S. trade negotiators there).
