Best All Around lens
If I have to take only one lens into a unknown situation, I take this lens. This is one of the best general purpose lenses that Canon has made. The 10X zoom factor covers the wide angle to super zoom. For camera owners with a multiplication factor (1.6) this is a great standard (56mm) to super zoom (560mm)lens. This might be the best image quality lens that Canon makes (or has made), but if you can only afford to buy one lens this should be high on your list.

Motorola Q9h/"Q9 global" Great PDA/smartphone!
The best Microsoft Smartphone implementation so far! I had and lost my Samsung BlackJack and now I don't miss it at all. I got the Q9h or Q9 Global a week ago and it works great. Better keyboard, better voice recognition (actually works most of the time). Bigger screen, brighter screen, better contrast and works with SDHC micro cards. Best camera and a flash (actually a constant light) that works and can light up more than 10 feet away versus six inches for most phone flashes. Major improvement over my BlackJack and Blackberry. You can actually find the 10 number keypad in the dark (which was impossible on the BlackJack). There is a small bump on the #5 that locates the center of the number pad area. The keyboard is similar to my old Motorola text pager and I can now type in messages in the dark and with a single hand. No need for 2 handed typing any more. I can now safely type in text messages with out looking at the display while driving or in a meeting

Great Glass for mid zoom needs
This is a great piece of glass. I waited until I got the 5D to get this lens. I found that with the smaller sensor camera that the lens did not make the jump worth the extra cost. There is a major upgrade to the Sigma 70-200 that I was using. Only draw back is the weight. Heavy pro glass is heavy. So get a monopod or light weight tripod to keep it steady. In the studio, this is it! I find it more useful than my Canon 85mm f/1.2 lens in more situations. Since I can control the light, the extra stop of the 85mm does not overcome the amount of walking around to get the framing right. I like to frame my shots in the camera and not in Photoshop. I still use the 85mm for headshots where a tripod is in use, but for the rest I use this lens. Outdoors this is great and if you get the Canon 2X multiplier, you can get out to 400mm with minimum loss. Model shots at sunset with this lens is incredible. Near prime lens sharpness and speed make this a great travel companion when you want to keep the number of lens down.
