Century Arms C39v2 with MAGPUL Zuchov side folding stock
7 of 7 found this helpful With receipt of the Type 1 (Part # MAG333) QD Sling Mount Kit and Type 2 (Part # MAG332) QD Sling Mount Kit, I finally understand the difference between Type 1 and Type 2. The Type 1 cup has a hole in the bottom of the cup that is not threaded and comes with three screws of different lengths and a nut and a washer. The Type 2 cup has a hole in the bottom of the cup that is threaded. There are three mounting options: #1 - Insert one of the three screws thru the hole in the base of the Type 1 cup and use a 1/8 inch allen wrench to secure the screw into the threaded hole in the stock; #2 - If you want an ambidextrous mount (like I did in the buttstock of my Zuchov), insert a Type 1 cup on left side of the buttstock and a Type 2 cup in the opposite hole on the stock and then screw the two together; #3 If you do not want an ambidextrous mount, insert a Type 1 cup in the strong side mount hole and the supplied nut on other side of the stock and secure the cup with the appropriate length screw and nut. My C39v3 came with a QD sling mount factory installed on the left side just above the pistol grip. I installed a Type 1 and Type 2 cup in the buttstock and an M-LOK QD Sling Mount (part # MAG606) on the forearm. I've ordered the MAGPUL MS4 sling to complete the project. These seem to be quality parts that fit together well. I had to order the two kits and sling from three different vendors for the best prices and free shipping. Hope this helps!

Good, but a little different operation than traditional QD sling swivels.
These sling swivels are of excellent quality as all Magpul products are; however, I'm not particularly fond of the way you must manipulate the release the QD mechanism by pushing downward. Perhaps with repetition, it'd be easier for me, but if in an emergency situation when gross muscle memory takes control, I think the traditional push button type of QD would be best for me since it doesn't require the additional fine motor skill to release the QDM version. Also, I believe if you have some injury to your finger(s), the difficulty would be compounded. Granted I'm a younger silverback, but gross muscle memory is about all I have left so I have to keep things simple!! Overall, it's a great product, but just doesn't work for me. My only recommendation would be to try the QDM version before you buy to see if it suits you. Stay safe out there!
