Item arrived early in box, and in bubble wrap, very thick book. The seller needs to add more photos, as I did not know someone wrote on inside of it. Also the seller never said if mechanism worked, but I did contact them and they told me. Book smells like cigarettes and seller should have listed that as well. Seller took blurry photos and no photos of inside of book. I will be restoring the book and mechanism. Thanks!

Can't smell like smoke if I don't smoke. That's how my camera takes pic, can't help that. I told you, you asked, that my grandson gave me the book. I never looked inside. Did you really expect perfect for 4.99? I told you it was from a kid. I never even realized there was a mechanism so how could I know it didn't work? If it was in perfect condition, it would have gone for much more.

You may not smoke, but when I opened pages it smelled like cigarettes, my family agreed. If the camera takes blurry photo, then you can help it by clean the lens/take more photos. You said you never looked inside, I just wonder why you didn't take pictures of the inside when your selling it? I did not expect perfect for 4$, I wanted to restore it. The book says there is a mechanism on front cover. I guess you didn't read it. I left positive review/said thanks, no reason to get defensive. Thanks!

Great title
I loved this book. It is about a woman who wants to get away from her new step mother. She gets a job as a counselor in a camp for super smart kids. Sherry is fun-loving and carefree and just doesn't belong. These kids and people are all over acheivers and don't know how to have fun. That is until Sherry comes on the scene. She is always doing something to make the camp director mad. Jeff Roarke is the one responsible for the camp and he has his rules. She is always breaking these. They are always at each others throats. This is a funny story that has a serious side to it. I loved the ways Sherry gets into trouble. Debbie Macomber is very creative in this way. At one point she has Sherry spray Jeff with a water gun and he falls on his butt. I just had to laugh. In the end they both realize that they are falling in love with each other. The last day of camp Roarke tells Sherry that she is not welcome to come back next year. She is very upset. Just before she is ready to leave, Jeff comes to her cabin and asks her to help him run the camp next year. She doesn't understand what he is asking and he is tongue tied. Finally, he spits it out that he wants to marry her so that they can become life partners. It is a fun book and I enjoyed reading it. If you can find this book, read it. No one can write a book like Debbie Macomber. Any book that you happen to come across by this author, read it. She is good and you'll become hooked.

Ready for Love
This is a great book. I loved the stories in this book. It is all about finding love in the most obvious places. Some parts are so funny. How the characters don't see what's right in front of their faces is what makes this book worth reading. I love the way the first half of this book just goes right into the second half. It's like finding and becoming part of a family that only an author as good as Debbie Macomber can bring to life. When I read her books I can almost smell supper on the table and hear the conversations that go on around the kitchen table. Debbie Macomber has a way of making her stories come to life on the pages. She is like no other author I have ever read. Ready for Love brings to life the problems of two similar girls and turns them into two blossoming love affairs. Great stories and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves or even likes romantic story lines with a happily ever after.

great title
I love all Sandra Brown books. She is a wonderful author. I bought this book because I read all of her books. This is a story of a woman who loses her parents at a young age and tries to make up for the loss. Kendall moves to a small town and becomes the public defense attorney. She marries one of the local boys. Big mistake. During their marriage he is often gone, leaving her alone. One day she finds him cheating on her. They fight, he leaves. She decides to follow him, another mistake. What she comes upon in the woods is just horrible, the men folk in town are taking the law into their own hands. A boy was accused of rape so they cut off his penis and hang him on a cross to die for his sins. Kendall sees this and heads for home before anyone can see her. When she arrives at home she tells her husband, only to discover he is involved in this brutal murder. She has to get away, she hits him over the head with a vase and takes off. She was going to tell him that she's pregnant instead this is what happens. She contacts her grandmother and best friend to let them know she is okay. Then she goes into hiding after she notifies the FBI. She does have the baby. A year after she left town the FBI finds her and wants to take her back. She knows that if she goes back they will kill her. An ear infection helps her. Her and 2 federal marshalls decide to drive back to South Carolina instead of fly. All the while it is raining. Because of the rain there is a tree down in the middle of the road, the driver tries to miss it but the car goes out of control and down a ravine. The female officer is killed and Kendall pulls the other out of the car. She manages to get her, John, and her baby to the top of the hill where she flags down a car. This where the true story begins. They are taken to the hospital where John is told he has no memory. Kendall and the baby are fine. She comes up with the story that the federal marshall is her husband. No one can say different. She tries to escape the hospital knowing that the FBI will soon be looking for her but John traps her and makes her take him with her. She does and they are on the run. Kendall takes them to a family farm where they live as husand and wife for awhile. She tries everything to get away from him so she can go into hiding on her own. He just won't let her go. In the end, Kendalls real husband does find her and his father ends up shooting him. the FBI ends up shooting the father. It's just too hard to expalin with such a short space. You gotta read this one it's full of twists and turns that you'll never see coming. I had a hard time starting this one because it is not in order. She starts with the car accident and then sort of flips from the beginning to the middle and back again. It does make sense in the middle where it all starts to come together. Can't say enough good things about this book, one of her best. Has all the elements sex, blood, gore, and it even made me laugh when I met the twins and Ricki Sue. No one could forget good old Ricki Sue, she is something. Great read, couldn't put it down.
