I use them on any car 50 ft or longer. Works great on my medium curves.

Old Varney Hopper
This was an old kit-built car, metal with sprung metal trucks. I replaced the old style couplers with Kadee #158 couplers, as I wanted to make this an updated operating model. I also replaced the plastic wheel sets with Inter Mountain metal ones. All that was left was to do some weathering on the car. Now it is part of my rolling stock.
