Good replacement for standard duplex outlet
Install like any duplex receptacle (live, neutral, ground, 2 screws). Advantage: has a light acts as a dimmable nightlight. Disadvantage: light occupies the place of one outlet. Reasonably bright and reasonably sensitive. Cool white light colour. Streamlined design. Requires matching cover plate, not included, also held on with 2 screws. Good quality. Would be nice if there was an option or filter to choose between cool white and warm white but there isn't.

Pleasantly surprised
1 of 1 found this helpful From the reviews I thought this tool would be mediocre, possibly with issues. Not the case at all. First, I’d read some S-993A’s had an ungrounded, undersized cord. Mine is reasonably hefty for 100W (element is 90W, pump around 10W) and is grounded. I tested to see if the tip was actually connected to the grounding pin. It is. I set the temperature to the midpoint (380 degrees) and plugged it in. I’m sorry there’s no on/off switch (-1 star) and the LED came on. At first I thought it was just a power indicator but no— it tells you (by going out) that the element is up to the set temperature. I used the stock 1mm tip and went to work. You must make certain the collection cylinder is in all the way or it won’t suck solder at all. After about 2 minutes I had mastered solder melt / trigger action. I tried it on a couple of ICs. They literally fell out! Very pleased. I don’t know yet if this will be durable and dependable enough but so far, so good.

It just works
Does precisely what it's supposed to do. Maybe a little smaller than I expected but still quite readable. I cannot see any way to change the display from Celsius to Fahrenheit (but that's ok!). The display changes reasonably quickly.
